A survey conducted by the Development Intelligence Unit (DIU) and the Development Alternatives (DA) revealed that approximately 44% of young adults in rural India aspire to become entrepreneurs and start their own businesses. The study also found that nearly 90% of rural businesses are led by first-generation entrepreneurs who preferred to start on their own. Access to credit, talent acquisition, and technology adoption were identified as key challenges for rural enterprises. The findings emphasize the need for supportive ecosystems and collaborations to foster the growth of rural entrepreneurship in India.
